A guide to proposals
Planning a proposal can be a nerve-wracking thing. When to do it, where to do it, how to do it? We are approaching one of the most popular times of the year for proposals, with many couples getting engaged during Christmas and New Year holiday.
I don’t share many posts from other companies but I saw this ‘Guide to Proposals’ put together by Sainburys Bank and thought it worth a share. There are some interesting ideas and a few fun facts.
Did you know that the word ‘diamond’ is derived from the Greek word ‘Adamas’, meaning unbreakable? It’s also good to know that 25% of people propose without a ring. This way you can then choose the ring together. When my husband proposed he didn’t have a ring because he knew I would want to have something designed specially.
Knowing what your other half will like and going with your gut instinct is always the best option. I have very happily photographed a couple of proposals and it is always so special.
I would love to hear some of your proposal stories. Where did you propose? Was your proposal a surprise? If you got engaged this year do share your story. And if you are planning a proposal over the Christmas holidays, good luck and I can’t wait to hear all about it!
Once you are engaged then the wedding planning starts, and for some couples an engagement shoot is part of that. For more about engagement shoots, check out my post wedding top tips – all about engagement shoots.
