A gorgeous two ceremony Wotton House wedding in Surrey
Jen and Darren had a beautiful Wotton House wedding. It was a gorgeous day and the sun even made an appearance! The couple had planned an outdoor ceremony at Wotton House for all their guests, followed by a traditional tea ceremony for their closest family.
“Thank you so much, Fiona! Wow, we are absolutely blown away. You really captured our day so beautifully.” – Jen & Darren
Getting ready & first look
Jen got ready with her bridesmaids in a room in the hotel, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. They all looked stunning as the final makeup touches were finished. Jen’s bridesmaids all in pink and the bride in a beautiful lace Pronovias wedding dress.
Darren was also in the hotel but was in another part of the building with his groomsmen. Once they were all suited and booted we took a wander outside for a few photos. Darren then joined Jen in her room so they could spend a few moments together before the ceremony.
Surrey outdoor wedding ceremony in the Italian Gardens at Wotton House
The ceremony was outside in the temple in the Italian Gardens. There were trees with white blossom down the aisle and a white carpet leading the way to the temple. During the ceremony, they had a couple of readings and then shared their vows. It was a very beautiful and emotional ceremony. As the couple signed the register bubbles were handed round to their guests. When they walked down the aisle as a married couple they were surrounded by thousands of bubbles! It was the most wonderful and fun way to walk down an aisle when you aren’t allowed to throw confetti.
Wotton House wedding reception
The reception was out in the garden at the venue. There were drinks and canapés, lots of laughter and chatting. Just what you want for a summer wedding.
It was a two ceremony wedding, which is always fun. After the legal ceremony and drinks reception, it was time for the tea ceremony. Jen got changed into the most stunning red dress and joined Darren and their closest family in The Old Library. The room was set up and ready for the special and personal ceremony. I have photographed a few Tea Ceremony’s and they are always a real joy.
They chose a Wotton House wedding because they could have everything in one place. Stunning gardens for drinks, a beautiful outdoor ceremony and plenty of space.
Jen, Darren and I had a few opportunities for photos during the day. We took a walk through the gardens during the drinks reception. The couple wanted some photos after the tea ceremony. We then grabbed a little more time for evening shots before the party started. Wotton House has so many places for beautiful, relaxed couples photos, you really are spoiled for choice.
The evening
The dinner was followed by speeches. Very lovely words from Jen’s dad, a great speech by Darren and plenty of fun from his best man, who also happened to be his brother. A blessing and a curse from the point of view of the groom as he knew ALL the stories!
It was soon party time and after cutting the cake the couple had their first dance. Some great moves, a bit of a dip and a turn and the couple were joined by their guests for dancing time.
Jen and Darren chose to have sparklers during the evening, so once it was dark the couple and their guests went outside. It’s always slightly chaotic organising sparklers as you have to try to get everyone to light them at the same time. Not always an easy task but we did it and everyone had great fun waving the sparklers as Jen & Darren walked through.
I left the couple dancing and chatting with their guests. Clearly very much enjoying their Wotton House wedding.
