Fun Pembroke Lodge wedding
It really is shocking how time flies. Sian and Michael have just celebrated their first wedding anniversary, which basically means last year I really wasn’t doing well blogging weddings. But also means it gives me a lovely excuse to revisit their gorgeous wedding day and share it now! Hurrah!
When Sian and Michael first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a really fun Pembroke Lodge wedding with a laid back summer feel and drinks in the garden for the reception. Sian and Michael are the nicest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The wedding ceremony in the Russell Suite
My day started at Pembroke Lodge as they didn’t want photos during the morning preparations. I arrived, caught up with Michael and then started capturing photos of the guests arriving.
The wedding ceremony took place in the Russell Suite at Pembroke Lodge, and it was wonderful and emotional ceremony. There were plenty of happy tears and so many smiling faces. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then they were showered with confetti as they walked back down the aisle. They had a piper play them out of the ceremony and on their way to the drinks reception they.
The party and celebrations
The wedding reception took place in the garden at Pembroke Lodge. Its a very pretty secluded spot, surrounded by trees and flowers. It was a beautifully sunny day, which was glorious. While the guests enjoyed canapés and prosecco, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. They had live music from a traditional Irish folk band, which was a nod to Michaels heritage. I whisked the couple off for a few relaxed photos at the end of the drinks reception and took a wander round the grounds.
We returned in time for dinner and then speeches. There were both heartfelt and hilarious speeches, which went down very well! The evening was a lot of fun. The first dance was quickly followed by everyone piling onto the dance floor.
Before I finished for the day we took a final walk into the gardens in time for the most beautiful sunset.
