The most amazing sun-drenched wedding in Sorrento
It is so wonderful to share this wedding today. Italy has long been a place I have wanted to go to. It had somehow been missed in my years of holidays but I longed to see the country whose food, wine and countryside so appeal to me. You can just imagine my excitement then when Emma and Adam asked me to be their photographer and we jetted off for their relaxed and intimate sun-drenched wedding in Sorrento Italy.
Just looking at these photos makes me feel the warmth of the sun, the taste of the amazing food and crave for a Prosecco or two. Emma and Adam were joined by a small number of friends and family to celebrate their wedding in Italy. In the morning I headed to the Hotel Corallo, where Emma was getting ready. This is a stunning place right on the edge of the rocks overlooking the sea. I was a little impressed that the room she was in had a bed that looked out to the sea. What an amazing way to wake up in the morning! After hair and make-up were finished some of Emma’s friends arrived for a little Prosecco to get the day going. It wasn’t long before her parents arrived too and it was time to go. While I had been with the bride, my second photographer, Tarah, had spent the morning with the groom, Adam. He had been getting ready with his best men and friends at Palazzo Marziae near the centre of Sorrento.
The ceremony was held in the beautiful Museo Correale in Sorrento. The Museum made for a stunning setting to get married. The couple recited their own vows and exchanged rings. After a little confusion, due to translation and a slightly different way of doing the ceremony, Emma & Adam were announced, husband and wife. Cheers, hugs and congratulations by all and everyone made their way out of the building and into the courtyard for a few drinks. After some photos, the guests headed towards Relais Blu, where the wedding meal was being held. Emma, Adam and I stayed a while longer to do photos in the grounds of the venue and also to make a few little stops on the route to the meal. We couldn’t miss out a wander into a nearby lemon orchard to take some pictures and sample a little of the famous Limoncello. We then hopped in the car and stopped in the middle of Sorrento to capture some of the wonderful little streets and stunning architecture before heading to join the guests. Relais Blu is such a picturesque place. It’s on the edge of the hillside, amongst olive groves and Mediterranean plants with a view across the sea to Capri. After a delicious meal, speeches and plenty more truly stunning photos we all boarded buses to the final destination for the evening party. This was a bar further into the mountains, called Castore Sorrento. From there we saw the sunset and everyone danced the night away. It was a perfect Italian day.
Why not relax, grab a glass of Prosecco (or a cup of tea if it’s a little early for the fizzy stuff!) and dive into this gorgeous wedding in Sorrento.
This was the most wonderful wedding. A truly beautiful wedding in Sorrento. I can’t wait to be able to visit again and enjoy more gelato!
