Monochrome and Metallic city chic wedding style
An elegant and glamourous style for this monochrome and metallic city chic wedding editorial shoot. We wanted to create something that inspires and appeals to modern couples who are looking for a sophisticated London wedding.
The venue is The Greenwich Hotel, an elegant boutique-style hotel in the heart of Greenwich. It offers beautiful suites and a terrace overlooking some of London’s landmarks. The styling was partly inspired by the decor in the hotel itself.
The styling for the shoot was undertaken by the talented planner, Elisabetta White. She chose to go for a black and white colour palette with touches of velvet, gold and marble to bring out and enhance the hotel decor. Focussing on luxe fabrics and metallic details to bring elegance to the striking monochrome. The look is modern, minimal yet romantic.
Strong graphic design elements have been brought out by the use of chevrons, straight lines and dots on both the stationery designed by Kate Ruth Romey and the cakes designed by Olofson Design. Black and gold candle holders by H&M, geometric marble and cast iron pieces by Att Pynta are all softened by the use of different textures, such as the sequin tablecloths by The Sweet Hostess, glittery table numbers and delicate floral arrangements by Ivy Pip & Rose.
A boutique hotel wedding appeals to a modern and glamorous couple. For this reason, with the help of makeup artist Ana Ospina Makeup and hairstylist Dionne Smith, we created two bridal looks. The first being a sleek, romantic style, with a Jesus Peiro dress from Morgan Davies Bridal, accessorised with a modern metallic belt, and complemented by soft makeup and an elegant hair updo.
The second a glamorous evening look with a sequin embellished Inbal Dror dress from Morgan Davies Bridal, sophisticated makeup and soft, red-carpet style waves.
As our bride is a no-frills, less-is-more kind of bride, we accessorised with very subtle, minimal jewellery by Monica Vinader.
Our groom wears a black tuxedo with black and white polka dots braces, handkerchief and bowtie, which is then replaced by a black velvet bow-tie for the evening look, all finished off with a pair of studded Christian Louboutin loafers. Simple, elegant and stylish. A perfect city chic wedding with monochrome and metallic style.
