Sparkly Winter Pembroke Lodge wedding photography
When Georgia and Andrew first got in touch with me about their sparkly winter wedding in London, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most romantic December wedding with lots of sparkle and pretty details. Georgia and Andrew are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their amazing Pembroke Lodge wedding photography.
Getting ready at Richmond Gate Hotel
I turned up at Richmond Gate Hotel, where the bride and her friends were getting ready, along with the mums and Georgia’s dad. It was such fun, everyone was in a good mood and looking forward to the day. Georgia wore a beautiful Aurora dress with sequined detail and a cut outback. She had treated her bridesmaids to matching PJ’s, so they could be relaxed and comfy while getting makeup done. When it was time for the dress to go on, there was fizz at the ready and lots of excitement. Andrew also got ready close by. He made his way to the local pub with his groomsmen for a pint or two to steady the nerves before heading to Pembroke Lodge.
The ceremony – Pembroke Lodge wedding photography
The wedding ceremony took place at Pembroke Lodge. It was a lovely ceremony with a few happy tears and lots of smiles. The couple had created a beautiful space in the ceremony room. A flower wall backdrop, muslin curtains at the entrance and pretty white flowers throughout. It felt like a winter wonderland. After the ceremony, they walked down the aisle together and were showered with confetti, and were then the celebrations began.
The reception – Pembroke Lodge wedding
The wedding reception took place at the same venue, everyone made their way out onto the terrace at Pembroke Lodge. It was a beautiful December day, cold but sunny. There was hot mulled wine and beers. We did a few quick family photos outside, while the light was low and golden (and before everyone turned into icicles!) As their guests headed into the warmth, Georgia, Andrew and I took a wander for some photos in the ground of Pembroke Lodge. We were so lucky to have such lovely light and a perfect winter sunset. It really did make their sparkly winter wedding that extra bit special.
They had the wonderful Liquid Strings playing during the drinks reception. The soft background music really did add to the relaxed and elegant vibe of the day. It was soon time for the wedding breakfast and the room was simply stunning. A wall of fairy lights highlighted the top table, which was dressed with sequinned table cloth and silver vases with white flowers. There were little candles dotted around adding more sparkle and silver name places. The whole room was abundant with twinkly lights, silver, white and sparkly details, right down to the cake! Florists Rhubarb & Bramley and cakemaker Designer Cakes by Elle had surpassed themselves.
Speeches followed dinner, with a mix of emotion, laughter and embarrassment. As the guests enjoyed after-dinner coffee the room was turned around for the evening. Then the party was ready to go! First dance kicked off the evening and lots of dancing and fun followed.
It was the most amazing winter wonderland of a day and the perfect sparkly winter wedding at Pembroke Lodge. It was a complete pleasure to be a part of and shoot Georgia and Andrew’s Pembroke Lodge wedding photography.
