Pretty Pembroke Lodge wedding in Richmond Park

When Emily and John first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so happy, they were planning a pretty Pembroke Lodge wedding with an outdoor ceremony and drinks in the garden for the reception. Emily and John are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

I started at Petersham Hotel, where both the bride and groom were getting ready. It was so chilled out, because everyone was in a good mood. After spending a little time with Emily, I headed to John’s room to capture a few photos with him and the groomsmen. I was back with Emily in time for her to put on her dress and get ready to leave for the ceremony. Emily wore fabulous silver sparkly pumps, which I loved!

The outdoor ceremony at Pembroke Lodge

The wedding took place at Pembroke Lodge, and it was very pretty outdoor ceremony. It was really emotional as Emily’s grandad walked her down the aisle. They said their vows and had some beautiful readings, which brought on many of the guests to tears. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began.

The wedding reception

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was what the couple had hoped for. While the guests enjoyed the drinks and canapés, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. I took Emily and John for a wander round the gardens for some relaxed photos.

The wedding breakfast took place in the Russell Suite at Pembroke Lodge, which they’d decorated with pretty pink and white flowers. After everyone had eaten it was time for speeches. They kept the speeches simple with Emily saying a few words and making a toast. After dinner the couple led their guests outside for evening drinks in the garden. It was a gorgeous and very warm evening. It was soon time for the party to start, they had chosen to have a band, which everyone loved. Emily and John had their first dance and were then joined on the dance floor by their guests. Despite the hot weather everyone looked set for a fun evening of dancing.
