A WONDERFUL RELAXED PEMBROKE LODGE WEDDING IN SURREY with three outfits for the bride.
When Amy and Ollie first got in touch about their relaxed Pembroke Lodge wedding in Surrey I was so excited. They were planning a wonderful day, incorporating elements from Amy’s Korean heritage. They had a beautiful church ceremony followed by a relaxed reception at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park. Amy and Ollie are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
Amy and her bridal party got ready at Richmond Hill Hotel. When I arrived everyone was relaxed, having some food and finishing up hair and makeup. The excitement kicked in as the time approached for Amy to get into her dress. She had two wedding dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the evening, and a traditional Korean Hanbok for later in the day. Amy chose to get her two ivory dresses from Brides Do Good, which is an amazing company that not only offers beautiful pre-loved dresses, but supports a number of charities with a percentage of the profits.
Wonderful wedding ceremony at St Andrews Church
The wedding ceremony took place at St Andrews Church in Ham, and was a beautiful ceremony. The couple had some beautiful readings, which were very heartfelt and personal. After the ceremony, there was a big cheer from everyone and Amy and Ollie walked back down the aisle and through the confetti tunnel outside the church door.
Relaxed Pembroke Lodge wedding reception
The wedding reception took place at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park, which is a beautiful place for a wedding reception. The sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. As soon as we arrived from the church, I took Amy and Ollie for a wander around the gardens and a chance to capture a few relaxed photos of the two of them. This gave all their guests time to arrive and they were ready to greet the couple after the photo time. The weather was beautiful, so everyone made the most of it relaxing on the terrace enjoying drinks and canapés. It was just perfect.
Just before dinner Amy and Ollie slipped away to change into the Hanbok, traditional Korean outfits. They made a fabulous entrance into the wedding breakfast! After the meal, there were a few speeches which brought laughter and happy tears. Amy’s dad totally nailed it. He had the timing of a professional stand up comic and had everyone in stitches! The couple then cut the cake and we headed out for a few more photos of the two of them while they were still in the Hanbok.
Amy and Ollie made their grand entrance into the evening party with Amy in her final dress of the day, a gorgeous satin evening dress which was perfect for dancing the night away.
The first dance took place on the terrace, and their guests soon joined them having fun and dancing in the outdoors. I left the couple and their guests having fun as the sun when down, ready to celebrate into the night.
Top tips from Amy & Ollie:
‘Wedding planning isn’t straightforward – and there’ll definitely come times as you decide or compromise that you and partner might change priorities, or even have differing ones! So many things can pop up that you didn’t expect. I’d say to take it in your stride always come back to the fact that it’s the marriage that’s going to be the thing that pulls you through – the wedding is the celebration of the marriage and not the other way round. Also – we would say book venue and photographer first, then think about the other details. Have the wedding you and your partner want, not the wedding others think you might want. You won’t regret it.’

Why they chose me
“We found you as a recommended supplier through the venue (yay!) We gathered a shortlist of around 6 other photographers and took a good look at the portfolios. We loved the light in your photos. Everything was so bright and vibrant – not just the colours but the expressions and the emotions. We basically found ourselves smiling the most at the couples you photographed and decided that was the best bet! We also really liked how professional your demeanour seemed and the reviews were great. We felt really safe choosing you as our photographer.”
