Jo & Wil’s Orange & Blue Autumn Barn Wedding
Jo & Wil’s wedding day started slightly rainy, but in perfect timing for their Autumn barn wedding, the sky cleared in time for the ceremony.
Wil had spent the morning setting everything up in the barn and he and his groomsmen had done an amazing job. The place looked wonderful. They had put together a pretty, rustic and laid back feel to the venue with decorations in white, green, orange and blue as the colour theme for the day. Perfect for an Autumn barn wedding! Wil had chosen a wonderful blue tweed suit from Tweed Addict (I’m a bit of a fan of tweed, having my own tweed jacket, so loved this suit), the bridesmaids wore dark blue and there were lots of gorgeous oranges, coral and green accessories. Jo’s orange Ted Baker shoes were a real joy to see.
Jo and her bridesmaids made the final preparations across the courtyard from the barn where the ceremony was taking place. There were a few nerves as the time drew near. It was soon time for the ceremony. Jo & Wil said their vows amongst their friends and family, to many smiles and a few happy tears. As they exited the barn the sky had cleared and it was dry and warm enough for them to enjoy drinks and canapes in the courtyard.
I whisked the couple away for a little walk around the nearby pond, and a few photos, before the wedding breakfast. A beautiful meal was followed by some rather raucous speeches. Jo’s dad started with a really entertaining speech, which shared a few stories of Jo’s childhood. Wil followed and then it was time for the best men, who, it’s fair to say, made a speech that was pretty embarrassing for Wil. Much to the amusement of all the guests!
The meal finished and Jo & Wil cut the cake with a sword, which is always fun! The cake had been made by Jo, clearly a very talented lady. I can honestly say I have seen professional cakes that weren’t as good as this one. It was beautiful. They had also chosen to do a cake table, so lots of their guests had made lovely little treats and yummy things to share. The evening kicked off with a confetti exit from the barn. By now the sun was out and it was the most glorious evening. Jo, Wil and I went for a little wander to take some photos during the golden evening light. It’s always nice for the couple to have a little time together before the evening party starts in full.
When we wandered back to the reception everyone was outside, enjoying the warm evening. Chatting, drinking and enjoying the celebrations. Jo & Wil had booked a band for the first dance and music and before long they took to the dancefloor. The guests soon piled on and joined them. I left Jo & Wil doing Jaeger bombs! Clearly it was going to be a good party! It was a real pleasure to spend the day with these two. They are a fab couple and I enjoyed capturing their wedding very much.
