A pretty garden wedding at Oaks Farm in Sutton

When Claire and Simon first got in touch with me about their wedding at Oaks Farm in Surrey, I was so excited – they were planning the prettiest and laid back wedding with lawn games and a really relaxed elegant countryside feel. Claire and Simon are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

I turned up at Selsdon Park Hotel, where the bride and her friends were getting ready, and it was so chilled out because all the girls were there. Claire had bought them all matching robes so they could relax in comfort during the morning prep. The girls travelled to Oaks Farm in the most fabulous Yellow Chevrolet, so they could finish prep at Oaks Farm. Claire wore a beautiful Justin Alexander dress and Simon wore grey tails and they looked so gorgeous. Simon had arranged for a gift for Claire, which she received moments before getting into her dress. He bought her beautiful pearl earrings, the perfect accessory.

The ceremony in the stables

The wedding took place in the stables at Oaks Farm and was a romantic and simple ceremony. After the ceremony, there was a big cheer from everyone, and then they were showered with confetti. The couple then led their guests to the garden for the drinks reception and the celebrations.

The garden party reception

The wedding reception took place outside in the garden, where there were lawns games set up, drinks flowing and live music. It was wonderful. The perfect garden party wedding reception.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which made it even better. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. Towards the end of the reception, I whisked them off for some relaxed photos. We wandered around the venue, making the most of the pretty gardens and lovely setting.

We returned ready for the new Mr & Mrs to be announced into dinner. Speeches followed and some very emotional moments, plus a few very funny ones.

The evening party at Oaks Farm

The couple had arranged for a campervan photobooth, which set up outside the front of the venue. Everyone was enjoying a bit of photo booth fun and one or two drinks outside. Making the most of the lovely warm Summer evening. It was soon time for the first dance and the DJ to get the party started.

Before finishing for the day I took the chance to get a few sunset photos with Claire & Simon. It was a beautiful evening and these later portraits are always so relaxed and fun.
