When Nicky and Alex first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a really fun city wedding bringing elements of their Scottish, English & Jewish heritage. They wanted to bring the party to the celebrations and they really did! Nicky and Alex are the most fun people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
I started at RSA House, ready to welcome a rather nervous groom. After a few photos with the groomsmen I left Alex to sort out some final details. Nicky arrived in a white taxi cab, looking amazing! She was greeted by a piper which set the high marker for the day. She did the final getting ready touches in one of the rooms upstairs, as Alex welcomed their guests. The pair of them looked amazing. Nicky had the most fabulous pair of blue heels as her ‘something blue’.
The wedding took place at the amazing Great Room in RSA House, and was a fabulous celebrant led ceremony. They had personal vows they’d written themselves, and their celebrant Natalie told some wonderful stories about the two of them. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and the piper led them out the room. Their guests made their way outside for confetti, ready to start the celebrations.
The wedding reception took place in the fabulous Benjamin Franklin room. While the guests enjoyed drinks at the bar, the couple mingled while I took candids. Nicky & Alex wanted to capture some iconic London photos so towards the end of the drinks reception we took a wander down to the river Thames to capture a few photos. When we got back the piper was ready to pipe them into dinner. Both massive football fans, they had a cake that was half Celtic and half Tottenham. It was very impressive!
Afterwards, there were some brilliant speeches. So many awesome stories that ended with a guests standing on chairs and applauding. It was then time for the party! The dancing started with their first dance and then everyone piled onto the dance floor as the couple were lifted on chairs. Before I finished for the evening we did a dash onto The Strand for some nighttime photos and a cheers.
