London wedding photography – Elegant Dartmouth House wedding
“Oh my goodness. The photos are stunning, You managed to capture our day perfectly! From the pre-wedding jitters, the parts we didn’t see and all the wonderful and wacky moments in-between. Working with you has been an absolute joy! We’ll always cherish looking back on these photos and remembering our wedding day. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! “ – Steph & Ross
When Steph and Ross first got in touch with me about their elegant Dartmouth House wedding in London, I was so excited – they were planning the most beautiful and stylish wedding day with a church ceremony, gorgeous details and even the Welsh & American flags flying to celebrate their home countries. Steph and Ross are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding! Steph is also a graphic designer, so I knew there were going to be some amazing personal touches to their wedding day.
I began the morning at The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel, where the bride and her friends were getting ready together, and it was so much fun because everyone was in a good mood. Steph wore a stunning bespoke Suzanne Neville dress. The dress was designed with a lace top, so as to create a day time and an evening look and Ross wore an elegant three-piece suit from Hawkes and they looked so gorgeous.
The wedding took place at Grosvenor Chapel and was an elegant church ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which everyone enjoyed. The groom’s brother played a little joke on the groom at the altar, pretending he didn’t have the ring! After the ceremony, there was a big cheer from everyone, and then we did a confetti tunnel outside the church door. We took the opportunity to do a few relaxed family photos outside the church. While all the guests made their way to Dartmouth House for the drinks reception, I whisked the bride and groom away for a few photos. We took a walk through the gardens behind the chapel and then made our way to Dartmouth House to do a few more photos on the iconic staircase. The couple joined their guests in the Courtyard to cheers and celebrations.
The wedding reception took place at Dartmouth House, a stunning mansion in the middle of Mayfair, which was adorned with beautiful flowers, by Blooming Haus, and elegant and creative touches that were so fitting for Steph & Ross.
It was a bright and sunny day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails in the Courtyard, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends and family.
It was soon time for the wedding breakfast. After dinner, they had some wonderful speeches. Plenty of emotion from Ross’s dad and Steph’s dad, who both did speeches. Some laughs from the groom’s brother and very enjoyable speeches all round. It was then time to cut the cake was cut and everyone made their way through to the dancefloor for the couple to have their first dance. The American tradition is for the bride to dance with her dad and the groom to dance with his mum after the first dance. This was something the couple did and it was a lovely moment. The band then kicked off the dancing set and everyone filled the dance floor. These guys know how to party and it was a very fun evening!
I had the best time getting to know Steph, Ross and their families. It was a wonderful day and a real pleasure to photograph this elegant Dartmouth House wedding.
