Shawnee & Jordans stylish intimate wedding in Balham
Shawnee and Jordan had the most wonderful stylish intimate wedding. Like many couples this year their wedding plans were thrown into chaos with dates moved and plans changed. They moved their wedding from Summer to Autumn and when the date in Autumn couldn’t happen as they planned they changed their plans.
This is wedding part one. The official ceremony with a mini celebration for their nearest and dearest. Wedding part two is planned for next year, when Shawnee and Jordan are planning a blessing and a larger celebration. The theme for this year has been flexibility. From couples to suppliers we have all had to move, change and adapt. The one thing that has been wonderful to see through all this is that love, hope and joy continues. A smaller wedding is just as wonderful and special and can be just as stylish!
The wedding ceremony
The wedding took place at St Marys & St John The Devine, Balham. It was a wonderful and very happy church ceremony. The vicar was amazing, making everyone feel so welcome and the ceremony so special and personal to the couple. It was a wonderful ceremony, with Jordans mum live streamed from Australia so as to be part of it. She even did a reading, which was really special.
After the ‘I do’s’ and the register signing the couple walked back down the aisle as a very happy husband and wife. They actually walked back down twice as there was a slight error in the music, but that only made it more special!
The mini drinks reception
Even small wedding deserve big celebrations, so the happy couple exited the church into the pretty side garden to cheers and a lot of confetti. One of the bridesmaids had brought special “Shawnee & Jordan” face masks, which they all had on to greet them!
There was lots of chatter, laughter and the biggest smiles while the Champagne was popped and drinks were enjoyed. The little garden at the side of the church made for a perfect spot for a few relaxed drinks and some photos after the ceremony.
As the guests made their way to the pub for more drinks and dinner, I headed off with Shawnee & Jordan to do a few couples photos. We walked to Wandsworth Common, just around the corner from the church, and walked, chatted and got photos of the two of them. They were congratulated by so many passers by it was really lovely.
We parted ways as they headed off to meet their guests and I went home. It was so nice to be part of their stylish intimate wedding and I am thrilled they managed to have their wedding this year. I also cannot wait for the bigger party next year!
I hope you have enjoyed looking through this stylish intimate wedding. How amazing was Shawnee’s dress?
