Beautiful travel-inspired wedding at BMA House in London
Anna & Barry’s wedding at BMA House in London took place on a beautiful June day. The early clouds and rain that threatened soon past and the day was sunny and warm, allowing guests to enjoy the impressive courtyard and the hidden gem of a garden.
Anna got ready at her parent’s home amongst a buzz of excitement, champagne and sandwiches. Anna wore a simple yet elegant lace dress, with her hair in an up-do that was a perfect combination of beautifully styled and relaxed. She chose to keep her make up quite natural but went for a flash back to classic hollywood style with fabulous red lipstick. The bridesmaids each had a different coloured dress, with a wide skirt and petticoat. Just made for lots of swirling!
The whole wedding and reception was held at BMA House. This is a stunning venue, hidden away through a discrete archway of Tavistock Square in the middle of London. The buildings are the home to the British Medical Association, which was the perfect place for this wedding given that Anna is a Doctor. The couple had chosen to keep the decorations very relaxed with hand tied bouquets of English flowers. The centre pieces of the tables were mixed and varied flowers, reflecting the colours of the bridesmaids dresses and with a real summer countryside feeling. Their theme of travel saw a map table plan, wonderful vintage style postcards as the table name cards and little favour boxes, made from maps, with sweeties inside.
It was so wonderful to see how excited and happy Anna and Barry were to get married. Smiles and laughter throughout the ceremony made it such a happy event and this feeling continued throughout the day. The speeches started very emotionally with a heartfelt speech from Anna’s dad, followed by Barry’s amazing words which brought tears to pretty much everyone in the room. This was followed by the most hysterical best man’s speech I think I have ever witnessed. Barry’s best man, Rob, had created a video that was truly amazing and funny and had everyone dancing at the end. As the evening went on, Anna, Barry and their friends and family danced the night away to brilliant live music.
