An Intimate Chelsea Town Hall wedding in Springtime
I had forgotten what amazing weather we had in Spring last year. Its been so lovely to revisit this wedding and remember the joy, happiness and the sunshine!
When Kate & Cory first got in touch they were planning a big, full day Winter wedding. Then ‘you know what’ happened and their plans changed. A lot! They chose instead to have Spring intimate Chelsea Town Hall wedding with a very special lunch at Somerset House. Despite the fact Cory’s family couldn’t make it from Australia it was a fabulous, stylish wedding that was a wonderful celebration. They made it super special and had their Australian family and friends watch via live stream from the other side of the world.
the wedding morning
Kate and Cory had rented a fabulous Air BnB house for everyone to stay at and get ready. When I arrived it was already buzzing with activity. Hair dryers going, make up being done and food laid out for snacks to keep energy levels up! The couple chose to get ready together so while the final touches were being done on Kate’s make up, Cory got ready. He looked very dapper and stylish in a black tux and bow tie. Next it was Kate’s turn so Cory was kicked out of the bedroom while Kate and her bridesmaids came in. Kate’s dress was beautiful. A modern and elegant dress by Charlie Brear that finished at her ankle, showing off the most fabulous gold shoes.
There was the loveliest moment between the couple when Cory and Kate saw each other for the first time all dressed up and ready to get married.
the ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall
The ceremony was really lovely. Kate’s Dad proudly walked her down the aisle and they said their vows in front of family and friends both in person and online. As they kissed everyone cheered and clapped. It felt like a very special moment. Once all the legal bits were done the couple left the Town Hall to a mass of confetti and confetti canons. Which always makes for brilliant photos. We did a few family photos on the steps of the town hall before dashing off for couples photos. We chose nearby Battersea Park as a perfect spot for photos.
Kate and Cory had earlier discovered the walled garden so we headed there for some relaxed photos of the two of them. It really was a beautiful place, with a gorgeous wisteria hanging over a wooden walkway. A to Battersea Park would be complete without photos in front of Albert Bridge, arguably the prettiest bridge in London.
reception drinks and lunch at Spring in Somerset House
We jumped back in the taxi and headed to join everyone at Somerset House. As venues go this is very special. The courtyard at Somerset House is beautiful and having the chance to do photos there was fabulous. After a few drinks and some canapes in the bar at Spring, Kate and Cory ushered all their guests out for photos in the iconic courtyard. The sun was shining, the fountains were on and the courtyard was almost empty. It was their own amazing space to wander round and capture a few photos of everyone before lunch.
I left the happy couple with their nearest and dearest to enjoy a fabulous lunch and a fun afternoon celebrating. Enjoy this wedding, it was wonderful to photograph and a real pleasure to be part of.

I hope you enjoyed this wedding. How fabulous did Kate & Cory look? Super stylish! I do love a black tie wedding, especially when the brides dress is so awesome too. I love that despite all the challenges thrown at them, and how they had to change all their original plans, they had the most amazing day and enjoyed every minute of it.
