A fabulous, fun and stylish wedding at Pembroke Lodge for Sarah & Ade
I can’t even put into words how much I loved photographing this fabulous, fun and stylish Pembroke Lodge wedding. Sarah & Ade are brilliant, fun and warm people. They welcomed me with open arms (literally) and I enjoyed every second of their wedding day.
the build-up to ‘I do’
On the day I had Jesse second shooting, which is always a pleasure. She was with Ade and the groomsmen while I spent the morning with Sarah and her bridesmaids. We both had a great time as this couple know how to enjoy themselves and both bride and groom had mornings that were relaxed, fun and full of happiness and excitement.
While Ade got ready at a nearby pub, Sarah spent the morning at The Petersham Hotel. There was anticipation and excitement as makeup was finished and everyone enjoyed a glass of fizz before getting dressed. Sarah was helped into her amazing Jesus Piero dress and she looked stunning. The look in her Dad’s eyes when he saw her was so special.
the church ceremony
Ade was at the church, warmly greeting guests and clearly excited about marrying Sarah. As the time approached he made scooted inside mere moments before Sarah arrived. The bride’s party travelled in style with a vintage car and a white taxi bringing them to the church. A few words of calm from her Dad and the vicar and it was time to get married.
As Sarah walked down the aisle there were a few tears from Ade. The service was beautiful, with personal readings and heartfelt vows. As the couple made their way back down the aisle to applause and a few more happy tears. Once outside the couple were showered with confetti as they smiled and laughed their way through the confetti line. Ade has the best smile and he was grinning like the Cheshire cat. After more confetti and plenty of hugs, they were waved off to the reception in their white taxi.
reception time at this stylish Pembroke Lodge wedding
Sarah and Ade arrived before their guests, so we took the chance to have a wander around the gardens at Pembroke Lodge for some relaxed photos of the two of them. They are the easiest people to be around with natural smiles, hugs and laughter. They clearly have fun spending time together and that was a joy to capture. Once all their guests had arrived they made their grand entrance. There was lots of drinks, canapes, chat and laughter during the outdoor reception. Jesse and I wandered through the guests, capturing photos of everyone enjoying themselves and catching up. When dinner was called Sarah and Ade were greeted by cheers as they were announced in.
After dinner, it was time for speeches. The speeches were funny, lovely and a bit emotional. The couple cut their wedding cake straight after and then launched into their first dance. I’m pretty sure Sarah wasn’t expecting many of the moves but it was brilliant! Ade whizzed her around, lifted her up and put on a great first dance! Once they had caught their breath we did a dash outside to make the most of a beautiful evening and setting sun.
As restrictions at the time didn’t allow for dancing they chose sparklers as a way to celebrate in the evening.
This was an amazing wedding day. From start to finish it was fun, glorious and heartfelt. Sarah and Ade are the nicest couple and wonderful to spend time with, as are their friends and family. I enjoyed myself immensely!

Wedding planning tips from the couple
“The guest list is the hardest; get it done early and then kiss and make up afterwards! Also, there’s so many options for everything, it can be overwhelming trying to make the perfect choice. Just make a decision you’re happy with, then stop looking to see if there’s something better – it feels great afterwards to just have it done. At the end of the day as long as you’re happy with your choice to get married, nothing else really matters.”
I hope you have enjoyed going through this fun and stylish wedding as much as I did photographing it. I am a big fan of Sarah’s dress and she looked amazing in it too.
