Ella & Tom’s fabulous chic city wedding at Kensington Roof Gardens
Ella & Tom had their wedding at Kensington Roof Gardens. The first thing you need to know is that this hidden gem of a venue is that it is a little paradise tucked away on the rooftops in central London. The second thing you need to know is they have resident Flamingos…yes, you read right. Flamingos!! Say no more, I love this place.
This wonderful couple had an elegant, chic and wonderfully down to earth wedding. They also brought a bit of fun to the day with quirky table names and fabulously designed stationery by illustrator Veronica Dearly. To keep things simple and elegant they chose Gypsophila and white roses for the flowers, designed by Todich Floral Design.
Ella got ready in the private room at Kensington Roof Gardens with her maid of honour and bridesmen, along with the mums. It was a laid back morning with lots of laughs and a bit of champagne. Tom got ready at the Copthorne Tara Hotel with his groomsmen and the dads. I loved Tom’s chic style, with white bow tie and Oswald Boateng suit. As is often the way on wedding mornings the time flew by and it was soon time for the ceremony. There were smiles, happy tears, heartfelt words and at the end, as Tom & Ella were announced husband and wife, rapturous applause and a raucous reception by their guests. After a moment together they exited into the Spanish Garden to the biggest confetti line ever!
The couple and their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the sun, in the beautiful surroundings of the Moorish styled garden. They then moved to the elegant Tudor Gardens the the wedding breakfast, a beautiful outdoor spot for a relaxed and chic celebration. The most wonderful speeches followed the delicious buffet dinner. There was a lot of laughter as stories were told, some really emotional moments and the finale was Tom’s brother, the best man, who had written a poem. It was the most amazing heartfelt poem and had half the guests in floods of tears.
As an alternative to a regular wedding cake Ella & Tom had chosen to have giant pork pies! They included a few cupcakes by Love Rosie Cupcakes for those with a sweet tooth, but this is the only pork pie wedding cake I have ever photographed. Once the pie had been cut it was time for dancing…and there was a lot of dancing. It was clear that these guys know how to party and really went for it.
A brilliant day, in a beautiful venue with amazing people. You really couldn’t get much better. Hope you enjoy.
