Today I want to share one of my favourite London venues as a London wedding photographer: Kew Gardens. Photographing Kew Gardens weddings always creates the most stunning backdrop. I consider it to be London’s most breathtaking wedding venues, offering a blend of natural beauty, historic architecture, and unique charm. Kew Gardens provides a magical setting for your special day.
Why Choose Kew Gardens for Your Wedding?
Natural Beauty of Kew Gardens
Kew Gardens is home to one of the world’s most diverse collections of plants and flowers, offering a picturesque backdrop for wedding photography year-round. When planning your wedding at Kew Gardens, I recommend considering the seasonal elements. Spring and summer offer vibrant floral displays, while autumn provides rich, warm tones for a romantic feel. If you’re having a winter wedding, you can take advantage of the stunning glasshouses for an elegant, botanical-inspired setting.
Kew Gardens is steeped in history
With multiple venues within the gardens, couples can find the perfect setting to match their style, from the intimate Cambridge Cottage to the grandeur of the Orangery dating back to the 18th century. A wedding at Kew Gardens means exchanging vows in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making your day truly one-of-a-kind.
Gorgeous photography opportunities
Of course, as a Kew Gardens wedding photographer who loves the venue, I’m going to say it, but really with such a mix of lush greenery, striking glasshouses, and historic buildings, Kew Gardens offers endless possibilities for romantic and timeless wedding photography. We can go around in a golf buggy and take lots of photos of you both at different spots, so please do ask me when you’re planning where and when you want to be photographed.
When Leonie and Andrei hired me as their Kew Gardens wedding photographer, I was so thrilled. They chose to do a first look to give us time for relaxed photos around Kew Gardens before the ceremony. They chose to do this partly because of the time of year (losing the light not long after the ceremony) and partly because they loved the idea of having time for the two of them with no pressure.

Wedding Spaces at Kew Gardens
Cambridge Cottage
When Sophie and James booked me as their Kew Gardens wedding photographer, I was delighted to learn they chose Cambridge Cottage, a gorgeous Georgian building found at the edge of Kew Gardens.
A charming and intimate venue, Cambridge Cottage is perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed and elegant setting. It’s a Grade II-listed venue which offers beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, making it ideal for all seasons. A former royal residence, it is elegant, spacious and filled with light. It’s a perfect place for a wedding reception, especially in spring when the gardens are blooming!
The guests can enjoy drinks and canapes in the adjoining Duke’s Garden whilst we photograph your couple portraits.

Holly & David also booked me as their Kew Gardens wedding photographer and chose to have their wedding at Cambridge Cottage with the most amazin flowers decorating the room. Holly & David’s son was a part of their wedding, being carried down the aisle by Holly’s mum.
Kew Gardens is one of my favourite places, not least because you get to scoot around on a buggy to explore the gardens with the newly married couple!
We got photo bombed by the groomsmen, who had some fun doing ‘walking shots’ together with the groom!
Soon it was time for the evening party. The sun had set and after cutting their wedding cake, Holly and David we welcomed to the dance floor for their first dance. They were soon joined by their guests to get the party started!

Nash Conservatory
With its stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, the Nash Conservatory is flooded with natural light, making it a dream for wedding photography. Originally moved from Buckingham Palace in the 19th century, this elegant space blends history with contemporary charm. It’s an excellent choice for ceremonies, allowing guests to enjoy the beauty of the gardens while being sheltered from the elements.
Leonie & Andrei had their beautiful wedding ceremony in the Nash Conservatory in Kew Gardens. Leonie & Andrei walked down the aisle together and had their daughter and immediate family waiting at the front. As they were announced married there was the biggest cheer and they walked down the aisle to a mass of bubbles. This was so much fun, especially for the kids who had been given bubble guns, and is a great option if you can’t have confetti.
The Orangery
For couples looking for a grand and stylish reception venue, the Orangery is a showstopper. With its high ceilings, classic architecture, and views of the surrounding gardens, it provides a bright and airy atmosphere perfect for celebrations. The Orangery’s spacious interior allows for flexible layouts, accommodating both intimate and larger guest lists.
Leonie & Andrei moved their guests to the Orangery for the wedding breakfast which looked amazing, dressed with green, pastel & white tones that perfectly complemented the surroundings.

Princess of Wales Conservatory
A hidden gem within Kew Gardens, the Princess of Wales Conservatory showcases exotic plants from around the world. While not a dedicated wedding venue, it provides an enchanting setting for unique wedding portraits, with its dramatic foliage and tropical ambiance.
