Stunning Leeds Castle wedding with bridesmaids in pink saris & the groom in a white tux.
When Priya and Josh first got in touch with me about their Leeds Castle wedding in Kent, I was so excited that they were planning the most beautiful and stylish Leeds Castle wedding with a real romantic feel. Their daughter was going to be a big part of the day too. Priya and Josh are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their Leeds Castle wedding!
“Fiona was the only choice for us. As soon as we had our 1st video call we knew she would fit in and understood us. It was lovely to meet her before our wedding, which made us feel very comfortable. On the day Fiona and her assistant were superb. They made us feel so special. Our private time for photos was so lovely and memorable because of Fiona. She gave us the space to absorb our day whilst capturing the shots! Beautiful photos. So glad we picked Fiona.”
Leeds Castle Wedding preparations
Arriving for a Leeds Castle wedding always feels very special. You enter through the gates and drive slowly through the grounds until you see the castle appear across the moat. It feels like something out of a film and never fails to be an impressive sight. Both the bride and groom were getting ready at the castle. They had separate suites along the corridor from each other. Priya and her bridesmaids were busy with hair and makeup when I arrived. Lots of chatting and excitement as family popped in to say hi. I spent the morning with the bride, while my second photographer was with the groom. Josh was getting ready with his groomsmen and Dad. It was a very warm day, so windows were opened to let the breeze in and allow Josh a moment to watch guests arriving.
Priya wore the most amazing Galia Lahav dress and fabulous Sophia Webster shoes. Their daughter had mini versions of the same shoes, which was too cute. The guys went for black tie, with Josh wearing an awesome Tom Ford white tux. They looked so incredible.
To add the cherry on the cake, Priya’s bridesmaids wore gorgeous pink sari’s. With the couple in white, with vibrant coloured flowers, and the bridesmaids in cerise pink this made for one very stylish and stunning Leeds Castle wedding!
Leeds Castle wedding ceremony
The Leeds Castle wedding ceremony took place in the castle’s ceremony room, a beautiful and elegant space which was perfect. They had some wonderful readings and a really emotional ceremony. Their daughter stole the show and was front and centre with them for the vows. After the ceremony, there was a big cheer from everyone, and after signing the register they made their way down the aisle as husband and wife. Ready for the celebrations to begin!
The afternoon
The Leeds Castle wedding reception took place on the lawn outside the castle. You really couldn’t ask for a more wonderful setting. A castle in behind you, a moat surrounding you, black swans gracefully swimming along and champagne to enjoy.
It was a bright and sunny day, which was glorious. While the couple mingled with their guests everyone enjoyed canapés and drinks. Soon it was time for couples photos. We were whisked off on a golf buggy to get photos of Priya & Josh in the grounds. Not only a chance for the bride and groom to have a little time together and take it all in but an opportunity for some fabulous photos of the two of them against a beautiful backdrop.
As we finished our little photo session the Leeds Castle wedding guests were led to the dining room. All ready to welcome the newly married couple for dinner and speeches. The speeches were brilliant. A funny and emotional speech from Priya’s Dad was followed by a touching few words from Josh’s Dad. Josh spoke next and brought the mums to tears! Before his best man rounded up the speeches with some games and a lot of laughs.
The Leeds Castle wedding evening party
After dinner, while the guests had coffee, we whisked Priya and Josh outside again for some early evening photos, before the light faded. These couples photos are always more relaxed (especially after a few glasses of wine) and a lot of fun!
It was then time for the party to start. Priya and Josh swirled around the floor for their first dance before being joined by the guests ready to dance the night away. The band were amazing and really kicked off what was going to be a very good night.
Enjoy this stunning Leeds Castle wedding.
