Iconic London engagement shoot
Hanel & Davies were visiting Europe from the US and decided to book themselves an iconic London engagement shoot while they were in visiting London. They got engaged last year and have their wedding in the US later this year. The trip was a chance to spend some time together, visit places they loved and have fun travelling around Europe.
Like many couples who visit, they wanted to see the main sites and were keen to get photos at certain places within the city. We chose a route that took in many of these spots, plus a few more. Starting near the London Eye, we then walked over Hungerford Bridge and up to Trafalgar Square and The Mall. They were really keen to have photos with Buckingham Palace in the background and also wanted to visit Hyde Park. It’s a fair bit of walking, but all do-able and I was very impressed that Hanel walked the whole way in her heels!
I like, where possible, to plan these shoots first thing or later in the day. Light wise this is better for photos. In the morning you actually stand a chance of getting photos without dozens of people in the background.
We started their iconic London engagement shoot at 8.30 am and it really did feel like we had London to ourselves!I always enjoy doing these shoots and sometimes feel like a tour guide while we take photos. It’s great to share little nuggets of info about the places we visit.
