London wedding photography – A Horniman Museum wedding with ceilidh dancing
If you’re looking for london wedding photography, you’ll love this wedding for inspiration!
When Rachel and Jonathan first got in touch with me about their Horniman Museum wedding, I was so thrilled that they were planning a beautiful, laid back london wedding in the Horniman Museum Conservatory (which I love!) with a relaxed celebration, lots of flowers and a ceilidh band for the evening party. Rachel and Jonathan are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The wedding morning at The Half Moon pub in Herne Hill
I started at Half Moon pub in Herne Hill, where the bride and her wedding gang were getting ready. She had her mum and bridesmaids with her, and it was so much fun. Everyone was really excited and enjoying makeup, chats and a glass of fizz (or two). Rachel wore a beautiful beaded vintage style dress and Jonathan wore a stylish three piece suit and they looked perfect.
The ceremony in the Horniman Museum Conservatory
The wedding took place at in the stunning conservatory at the Horniman Museum. They had the most beautiful flowers as a focal point at the end of the aisle. The ceremony was so lovely with a few emotional moments and happy tears. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together, and then the celebrations began. The weather was typically British with every season making an appearance. Heavy showers, followed by sunshine, which wasn’t in the plan but the couple didn’t mind.
The wedding reception at Horniman Museum
As the drinks reception began a few heavy showers meant the couple and their guests dashed to the marquee for drinks and canapés. Thankfully this soon passed and the sun came out in time to do photos with Rachel & Jonathan in the gardens.
The wedding breakfast and reception took place back in the conservatory, which they’d decorated with the most amazing flowers from Pesh Flowers. It was incredible and wonderfully colourful.
After the meal, they had some wonderful speeches with tears of laughter, heartfelt moments and some embarrassment! The best men got everyone involved in their speech, which was great fun. The sun made a brief appearance in the early evening so whisked Rachel and Jonathan into the gardens for a few evening photos.
When we returned it was time for the evening party. They had a ceilidh band, which was a sure fire winner. Rachel and Jonathan led the way for their first dance and then everyone got on the dance floor and the ceilidh madness began!
It was such a pleasure to be part of this gorgeous Horniman Museum wedding. Take a browse and enjoy.
