Intimate wedding at The Goring Hotel in London

Rachael and Phil live in the US and decided they wanted to come to London, with their immediate family and closest friends, to have an intimate wedding at The Goring Hotel.
As their ceremony was due to start a little later in the day they decided to do a first look. This way we would have time to get some photos of the two of them with some of London’s iconic landmarks as backdrops. The Goring Hotel is round the corner from The Mall, St James’s Park and Buckingham Palace.
After capturing a few photos of the brides prep and the groom making the most of the fabulous cocktail bar it was time to set up the first look. It was such a lovely moment as Rachael made her way down the steps to the garden and Phil turned to see her. I never tire of first looks. They are such a wonderful and special moment for a couple.
Phil and Rachael took a little time after the first look to read personal vows to each other. They wanted to do this away from everyone else but were keen to have the moment photographed. Rachaels bridesmaid joined us in time for going out for photos, and her reaction to seeing them both was priceless.
A little bit of badly timed rain shower meant we started couples photos in the hotel reception and then headed out for a wander to The Mall. Dodging puddles and groups of tourists and finding great spots for photos for the two of them. On returning to the hotel Rachaels dad was waiting outside and she had a second ‘first look’ with him. This was just as lovely a moment to capture.
The rest of the day took place in The Garden Room. This is such a pretty room and looks gorgeous for smaller ceremonies and receptions. The ceremony was officiated by Rachael and Phil’s dads, with their mums also escorting them down the aisle. It was such a lovely ceremony and they marked the end with the traditional breaking of the glass.
Drinks and canapes were followed by dinner and speeches. We ended the evening with a couple of night time photos outside the hotel before I left Rachael and Phil to celebrate the evening with their nearest and dearest.
