A gorgeous autumn Braxted Park wedding in Essex
If you’re planning an autumn Braxted Park wedding, you’ll love this wedding!
When Ayshah and Tom first got in touch with me about their special day, I was so excited – they were planning such a fun autumnal Braxted Park wedding with cocktails, a steel band and day that blended Caribbean and Essex. Ayshah and Tom are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Getting ready at Braxted Park
I started at Braxted Park, where the bride and groom were both getting ready, and it was all very relaxed, because everyone was in a good mood and excited for the day ahead. Their main ceremony was a celebrant led wedding, so had a small civil ceremony an hour before the main event. This was just the two of them and their immediate wedding party. Ayshah wore a gorgeous short white lace dress and Tom wore joggers! He was keeping this part of the day on the low down, but made the full effort for their main ceremony!
The celebrant led wedding ceremony
The morning saw rain and cloud so their plans for an outdoor ceremony had to change and the ceremony was set up in the beautiful Orangery. This room was beautifully decorated by Stock Florist who created a fabulous floral display at the end of the aisle. The ceremony was beautiful, special and emotional. Celebrant ceremonies are so wonderful for bringing a really personal feel to the wedding. Ayshah and Tom had personal vows they’d written themselves, and a wonderful reading by Ayshah’s Aunty. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then they were showered with confetti. As the weather was being a little temperamental we did a few family photos in the Orangery after the ceremony. Thankfully by this time the rain had stopped and the drinks reception could take place outside in the walled garden.
Garden party drinks reception
The wedding reception took place in the walled garden where there were cocktails, canapes and music by a steel band.
It was a overcast day, which wasn’t in the plan but the couple didn’t mind. While the guests enjoyed drinks, canapes and the gorgeous gardens, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. Towards the end of the cocktail hour I whisked Ayshah & Tom off for a wander in the grounds of Braxted Park. It was a perfect opportunity for them to relax, have a few moments together and for us to get some gorgeous relaxed photos of the two of them.
Ayshah & Tom had the awesome Folly Fresh as MC for the day and once all the guests were seated he introduced the wedding party into the dinner with music and dancing. Last of all Ayshah & Tom made a spectacular entrance to cheers and much excitement. After dinner, they had some wonderful speeches and that had everyone laughing, crying and cheering.
Despite the earlier cloudy weather the sun came out in time for the most spectacular sunset and a chance for some golden hour photos of the happy couple.
Once dinner was finished the DJ kicked off the music and Ayshah and Tom had their first dance. This was followed by a dance with the mums, which was so lovely. Then everyone piled onto the dance floor ready to party the night away!
