Edith and Freddie’s elegant Spring time RSA House wedding.
So happy to share my first full wedding of 2017, Edith and Freddie’s fabulous, fun and elegant RSA House wedding!
The whole day was at RSA House in central London. From bride and groom prep, the ceremony and right through to the partying. The couple and their wonderful guests enjoyed the day in this stunning venue. As venues go it has some surprises. The place is a beautiful Georgian building with spacious elegant rooms and a fabulous staircase. There are also one or two surprises when you venture through the building and find modern design within and the vaults below. All in all a great place to get married.
Edith and Freddie said their vows surrounded by very excited guests, all clearly thrilled to see the couple tie the knot. A few happy tears and lots of laughter made it a really wonderful ceremony. The new Mr & Mrs left the room to cheers and danced their way down the aisle and grand staircase. Their guests followed them into the Benjamin Franklin room for drinks and canapes. Taking the time to chat to their guests and enjoy this special moment.
When you get married in March, as Edith and Freddie did, you never know what the weather might throw at you. Happily RSA House has plenty of space and spots for photos, should it not be an ideal weather day. However, on this day it played ball. The clouds came over but it was fairly mild and we managed to get guests outside the stunning building for family photos. The bridesmaids and groomsmen were great fun to take photos with. They were all full of ideas for photos as a group and with the couple. Taking photos as groups are chatting and laughing is always a great way to capture natural reactions.
For the bride and groom photos I like to whisk the couple away from the wedding reception for a short time. It’s a nice opportunity for the new Mr & Mrs to catch up, have a cuddle and take it all in.
The nice weather on this day meant we could take a walk nearby and found some lovely spots for photos. As Edith and Freddie chatted, hugged and walked hand in hand I captured the moments. It was soon time to return the bride and groom for dinner and speeches. The food at RSA House is delicious (big thanks to the events team who looked after us very well). The speeches were throughout the dinner and as loved ones stood up to share their thoughts and memories there were tears, laughter and some raucous cheering!
After the speeches everyone made their way down to the vaults for the evening party. Decorating the dance floor were giant light up letters ‘F & E’. The guests lined the edges of the room and Edith and Freddie entered. They cut the cake and then went into the first dance. They did a fabulous dance, with Freddie twirling Edith to loud cheers from everyone watching. The first dance finished and the dance floor filled as the DJ got the music pumping. These guys and their guests really did party the night away. The dance floor was rarely empty. An impromptu conga line, Freddie’s friends picking him up and throwing him into the air and a few Bollywood moves were definite highlights.
It was a real corker of a wedding and started my year with a blast! A huge thanks to Edith and Freddie for asking me to photograph their elegant (and dance-filled) RSA House wedding. I enjoyed the day so much and it was a pleasure to be there.
