Helen & Martyn’s elegant Eltham Palace wedding
I had the best day photographing Helen and Martyn’s elegant Eltham Palace wedding.
The couple lives in Blackheath and chose to keep their wedding within the South East London area and close to home. Their ceremony took place at All Saints Church in the heart of Blackheath and it’s only a short drive to the beautiful historic venue, Eltham Palace.
The day started at Chandler Wright hair salon in Blackheath. This was where Helen, her mum and bridesmaids were enjoying a bit of pampering while getting their hair styled. It was then a quick dash up the road to The Clarendon Hotel, where the rest of the mornings prep took place.
The morning quickly flew by and as Helen got into her dress and had final make up touches a surprise present was delivered by Martyn’s mum. A beautiful diamond necklace, personally designed just for Helen. Another surprise met Helen as she left the hotel in the shape of an elegant vintage Rolls Royce to drive her to the church.
Helen and Martyn married in a wonderfully sweet and personal ceremony at All Saints Church in Blackheath before travelling to Eltham Palace to enjoy canapés and champagne with their guests. They travelled in style in a vintage Rolls Royce!
By now the sun was shining and guests wandered the gardens enjoying the weather and the stunning setting. After a little walk around the grounds with the happy couple to capture some relaxed portraits it was time for the wedding breakfast. Heartfelt and hilarious speeches followed the meal. This is always a great time to capture natural reactions and some fun and emotional photos.
We were lucky to get a wonderful sunset and some beautiful evening light, so made the most of it with photos in the moat at Eltham Palace. We returned to a live band ready to get the evening started and they did just that. An elegant first dance marked the start of the evening before the dance floor filled and party going.
It was a real pleasure to photograph Helen & Martyn’s elegant Eltham Palace wedding. It was a wonderful day for two of the nicest people, enjoy browsing their wedding photos.
“Thank you so much for our wonderful wedding photos; they bring a smile to our faces every time we look at them. You were brilliant to work with throughout the entire process, from our engagement shoot, to visiting the venue and planning the day, to the wedding itself. You were able to capture so many intimate moments between the two of us, as well as the joy and laughter throughout the day. The album you have made for us is just beautiful; it really shows off your work and is a perfect keepsake.
We spent a lot of time researching photographers when we were planning our wedding because we knew that the memories that would be captured would be something we would treasure. Your natural style of photography and the way you capture the light so beautifully was just what we were looking for. We couldn’t be happier to have found you and would recommend you to anyone.” – Helen & Martyn
