Adding a pop of neon to wedding decor, modern ideas meet timeless style

I love it when an editorial shoot comes together and the end result is something fabulous and unique. We wanted to contrast contemporary ideas with timeless style to create elegant and stylish wedding inspiration for a modern couple.  10-11 Carlton House terrace was the location and this grand, historical building made a perfect setting. The Music Room brought a classic element that contrasted beautifully with contemporary styling.

We used dark greys, blacks, neon whites, and blush pinks to bring modern layers to a neo-classical building. We then added a pop of neon to create wedding decor that really stands out.

Fabulous florist Ali from Bloomologie dressed the dark tables with the most gorgeous pink roses, bright peach peonies and stark white orchids, with just the right amount of greenery to really jump off of the dark background. Her creation out of the historic fireplace, planted grass florals bookending the neon signage, brought with it an organic element to contrast the neon’s modern feel.

The ghost chairs were another must-have for our design. We wanted a chair that would simultaneously disappear into the room without looking overwhelming, and at the same time bring a modern style.

Our groom had two looks from Keye London, both bringing in the velvet trend which we felt joined together the old and new feel. The bride’s Charlie Brear gowns were eye-popping against the classical backdrop. The first, uber-modern polka dot separates, and the second, a sultry satin dress with a low-cut neckline.

The stationery was built around the idea of monochrome and modern transparent – using lucite signage and neon-white calligraphy on strong blocks of black. The cake reflected the colours and floral elements from the decor and we added a dessert station for that extra touch.

It was such a pleasure to be part of this shoot and work with the most amazing team of creative people. I hope you enjoy this and maybe get some ideas for your own wedding style, like adding a pop of neon to your own wedding decor!
