A beautiful outdoor Wadhurst Castle wedding – Alice & Charlie

If you’re planning a Wadhurst Castle wedding, you’ll love this for inspiration! Alice and Charlie got married at Wadhurst Castle, which is a country house in East Sussex with the most amazing countryside views. It was the most beautiful outdoor wedding and the sun shone all day long! It was one of the hottest days of the year.

The wedding morning at Wadhurst Castle

I arrived to find Alice, her mum and bridesmaids in the bridal suite. A stunning, light-filled room with views across the countryside. The balcony doors were flung wide to let a much-needed breeze into the room. It was a very hot day so any breeze we could find was much appreciated. The excitement grew as the time got closer for Alice to get her wedding dress on.

I spent the morning dashing between the bride, the groom (who had arrived in time to sort the last few details before the guests arrived) and the walled garden where the ceremony was taking place.

The outdoor ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service held outside in the walled garden. Charlie had the biggest smile on his face as he watched Alice walk through the garden and down the aisle. During the ceremony, they had a couple of really lovely readings and one of their friends sang after they signed the register. It was so personal and really special. They walked back down the aisle, showered by confetti, looking so happy! The most beautiful Wadhurst Castle wedding.

Champagne reception

After the ceremony, the couple led their guests to the main lawn for an outdoor champagne reception with a string trio. Alice, Charlie and their guests mingled and chatted. Enjoying every bit of the amazing weather and gorgeous setting. Champagne flowed and it was a wonderful celebration.

The speeches were done outside, during the drinks reception. I love outdoor speeches! Their actor friend acted as master of ceremonies and did a brilliant job introducing everyone. Making plenty of jokes along the way.

After the speeches, Alice, Charlie and I went for a wander in the gardens. It was a chance for a few photos and time to take it all in before going in for dinner.

A beautiful place to have a wedding

They decorated the room where the wedding breakfast was taking place with fabulous gin bottles that held the prettiest flowers and awesome illustrations for the table names, which I loved.

This venue is a real favourite of mine. The gardens and grounds are incredible, with the most amazing views. The rooms inside are equally as lovely. Wadhurst Castle is perfect for anyone who loves being outdoors and is one of the loveliest places to get married in East Sussex.

After a delicious dinner, it was time for cocktails on the lawn. The couple led the way as everyone headed back outside. It was a gorgeous evening, still very warm. Perfect for cocktail time outside! The dining room was turned around for the evening party and the most amazing cheese spread was put out for nibbles.

Dancing time at Wadhurst Castle

It was soon time for the first dance and the party! Alice and Charlie led the way on the dancefloor before everyone piled on to join them. There were some impressive dance moves and I left the happy couple and their guests ready to dance the night away and enjoy the long summer evening.

“Charlie and I were just reminiscing a week on about our wedding day – I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown! We truly had the most magical day and I just wanted to thank you for playing such a part in it.'”- Alice & Charlie
