A Spring Wedding
Spring has sprung… little fluffy lambs, daffodils, trees filled with blossom and Easter on the horizon.
There’s something about Spring that you can really feel. The sun gets a little warmer and colour starts coming back to the world. Everything seems a little lighter and more hopeful after the Winter months.
Spring weddings are becoming more and more popular because it is a great time of the year to get married. The evenings are getting lighter and there is a warmth to the air that makes it a joy to be outside. Flowers begin to bloom and gardens are transformed into the prettiest places, with trees heavy with blossom. Bluebells and crocuses push their way out of the ground creating seas of rich colour across lawns and flower beds. It’s impossible not to feel happier when the sun is shining and you can relax in the great outdoors. If you are lucky for your Spring wedding you will get a beautiful sunny and warm day. Not too warm either, because we Brits like our sunshine but don’t want it too hot a lot of the time!
Spring officially lasts from March 1st to May 31st. Within those months there are a lot of changes in weather, light, flora and fauna. Choosing to have a Spring wedding means you may have to contend with some rain showers, but this being the UK it’s never guaranteed to be dry regardless of the month! If you love Springtime you might as well go with it and accept the possibility of a cloud or two. Personally, I think it’s well worth the risk of a shower for the natural beauty that you find in this season.
You can take inspiration from the time of year for ideas for your wedding. Particular flowers in your bouquet, little chicks as decorations or sharing chocolate eggs as treats. Even the colours and tones you find in nature can be used as a theme for your Spring wedding. Pastel tones and soft colours are what surround us at this time of year. Pale pinks, lilacs and soft blues, interspersed with a vibrant yellow or green.
Weddings signify new beginnings and hope and joy, so having a Spring wedding seems very fitting. This is, after all, the season for renewal and new beginnings.
