Erin & Rory’s beautiful, rustic & stormy Autumn wedding at Farbridge
This Autumn wedding at Farbridge began with the arrival of Storm Brian! Sunny spells, rain showers and gale-force winds. You might think that this would have made things a little tricky, but it really didn’t dampen the joy of anticipation. If anything it added a bit of excitement. It’s not many people can say they got married during a Storm!
Erin & Rory created the most beautiful, rustic Autumn wedding at Farbridge. They embraced the season and chose warm, rich Autumnal colours for the flowers. They had a cupcake table with a choice of flavours and added a bit of hessian and a bit of sparkle to make things really pretty. They used old wooden boxes for displays, a rustic ladder for the table plan and chose drinks bottles for each table name (which could and were, drunk later in the evening!). Their whole idea was brought together by talented stylist Nikki from The Toast.
After a lovely and emotional ceremony, the couple got straight on with celebrations with their guests. Plenty of drinks and canapes and lots of laughs. We ventured out to do some very speedy family photos (in the midst of Storm Brian). After dodging a few torrential rain showers Erin, Rory and I also managed a quick dash around the ground of the venue for some photos of the two of them. Despite the gale-force winds and impending rain showers, it was very fun. Lots of giggles as Erin’s veil went in all directions and plenty of cuddles to keep the couple warm.
We returned to the barn in time for dinner. Speeches followed the food with funny and emotional speeches from Erin’s Dad and Rory. Three of Rory’s friends chose to do a speech, dishing the dirt on the groom, as well as telling some very nice stories of what a great mate he is. The table favours were shots of tequila, so once the speeches were over it was Tequila time (seriously my idea of hell but everyone loved it) and party time…! Boy, did these guys know how to party. The first dance ended up as a sing-along and straight after the dance floor filled. A testament to a great band and also to how much fun Erin, Rory and their guests were having.
I enjoyed photographing this fabulous Autumn wedding at Farbridge so much. It was fun, happy, relaxed, beautiful and loved up! And we even had Storm Brian!
It was a total joy to photograph Erin & Rory’s rustic Autumn wedding at Farbridge. Even with Storm Brian doing its thing!
