A CELEBRANT LED AUTUMN MORDEN HALL WEDDING IN SOUTH LONDON

When Unity and Tom first got in touch with me about their Autumn Morden Hall wedding, I was so excited. They were planning a beautiful wedding celebration with celebrant led ceremony. Not only do I love celebrant and humanist weddings, but Morden Hall is a gorgeous venue and one I was so happy to get to work at again.
The couple had had their legal ceremony earlier in the year but this was very much their ‘wedding day’ and a chance to really celebrate getting married. Unity and Tom are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding celebration!
THE EXCITEMENT BEFORE THE WEDDING
Both bride and grooms parties were getting ready at Morden Hall. So it was an easy prep time, dashing between the rooms they were in. Unity and her bridesmaids were finishing up make up and getting dressed in the Hawthorn suite. While Tom and his groomsmen were hanging out popping the champagne in the Sycamore room. It was a relaxed morning but with a buzz of excitement as it got closer to the ceremony and guests started to arrive. Everyone was in such a good mood. Unity wore a stunning halter neck dress that had been designed and made by a family friend and Tom wore a dark blue tweed suit and brown woollen tie. His groomsmen were in matching suits but wearing bow ties.
THE CELEBRANT CEREMONY AT MORDEN HALL
Unity and Tom chose the Willow room for their Morden Hall wedding and it was a wonderful, emotional and funny humanist ceremony. Their celebrant, Katherine, made the ceremony really special and personal. During the ceremony everyone sang ‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness. Which was amazing! I couldn’t help myself singing along! Unity and Tom had personal vows they’d written themselves, which were really special. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle to cheers and applause. They had a few moments alone while their guests made their way into the garden, ready to welcome the couple with showers of confetti.
MORDEN HALL WEDDING RECEPTION & EVENING
The wedding reception took place in the garden at Morden Hall, which is an idyllic spot and perfect for relaxed reception drinks.
It was a bright and sunny day, which was glorious. While the guests enjoyed canapés and drinks, the couple mingled and laughed with their friends. During the reception I whisked Unity and Tom away for a wander in the gardens and a time to capture some photos of the two of them. Morden Hall gardens are stunning so it’s easy to find loads of fabulous photo spots. The couple particularly loved the orangery so we ended our walk there.
Before their guests made their way into the dining room Unity threw her bouquet. This is always fun, especially when its caught by someone who really doesn’t expect it!
Unity and Tom were very loudly cheered into the wedding breakfast. After food there were a number of speeches, kicked off my Unity. I do love it when my brides do a speech. Tom then said a few words, followed by Unity’s mum and then the best men. The speeches were brilliant. A fabulous mix of fun and heartfelt.
It was soon time for cake cutting and onto the party! They had band ‘The Tricks’ bringing the music for the evening and after a great first dance everyone piled onto the dance floor. I had a great time dancing along with Unity, Tom and their guests. There were some awesome moves and everyone having the best time. Unity even had a change of outfit, getting into a short dress all ready to dance the night away under a full moon.
I had an amazing time photographing Unity and Tom’s special day and being there to capture their beautiful Autumn Morden Hall wedding. Enjoy!
