Beautiful Gisborough Hall wedding with a real princess style dress
The first thing you notice when you meet Sarah is that she has the most amazing smile. On the day she married Lee she smiled almost constantly, it was the loveliest thing. I met Sarah & Lee after being recommended to them by another photographer. From the moment we first met I wanted to photograph their wedding. They are the nicest people and the sweetest couple, and I knew it would be so much fun to capture their wedding and spend time with them and their loved ones. Sarah is also a massive Disney fan, which I loved as I’m rather partial to an animated film! She brought her love of Disney fairytales into the wedding, from the choice of venue with the sweeping staircase to the princess style dress.
Sarah is from the North East of England and Lee is from the South. The couple chose to get married near Sarah’s hometown, so it meant a trip up North to capture their beautiful Gisborough Hall wedding.
I joined Sarah during the morning preparations, capturing the excitement of the getting ready time. As both of them were getting ready at Gisborough Hall I managed to do a dash over to grab a few photos of Lee before he left for the church. The time flew, as it does on a wedding morning, and soon it was time to head to the church.
The church was a few minutes away in the village of Great Ayton. I arrived and met the vicar, the nicest person and encouraged me to take lots of photos of the ceremony. Lee was already there, greeting guests and chatting to friends. He looked a little nervous but was excited about seeing his wife-to-be. Sarah arrived in style, literally squealing with excitement as the car pulled up. A bit of dress sorting and she was ready to get married. I can honestly say this was one of the most relaxed and fun church ceremonies I have witnessed. The vicar was a star. He was so welcoming, he cracked jokes and encouraged everyone to join in. The wedding ended with the vicar doing a few magic tricks, a wonderful and fun end to a fabulous ceremony. It was no wonder that everyone was smiling from ear to ear.
The new Mr and Mrs Gordelier left the church to cheers and confetti throwing and made their way back to Gisborough Hall for the reception.
Against all the odds (and the weather forecast) it turned out to be a lovely day. A bit of sunshine, some cloud, but none of the rain that was predicted. The happy couple and their guests mingled outside in the gardens and in the conservatory for drinks and canapes. Sarah, Lee and I took a wander to get some relaxed photos of the two of them. Lots of cuddles, lots of laughter and that amazing smile of Sarah’s. It was a real joy to spend time with these two.
The couple chose to do a receiving line so they could have the chance to say a quick hello to all their guests. It was then straight into speeches. Some lovely, heartfelt moments. Some rather embarrassing and funny moments and plenty of laughter. With the speeches done everyone relaxed and settled in for the wedding breakfast and the celebrations of the day.
After a day of cloud, the sun made an appearance as the evening drew in. I always love a sunset so whisked Sarah and Lee off for some early evening photos. We returned in time for cake cutting and first dance. The evening party then kicked off and the dance floor filled. Surrounded by their friends and family the couple were clearly having the best time.
It was a total joy to photograph Sarah and Lee’s gorgeous Gisborough Hall Wedding. Enjoy sharing this fabulous day!
