An elegant garden wedding at home in Shropshire – Jazz and Harry
If you’re planning a garden wedding at home, you’ll be inspired by this wedding!
When Jazz and Harry first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so thrilled – they were planning the most beautiful countryside wedding with a church ceremony and a garden reception at the bride’s family home for the reception. Jazz and Harry are the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
The excitement before the wedding
My morning started at the bride’s family home, which was also the setting for the wedding reception. When I arrived the bride, her bridesmaids and her family were getting ready together, and it was really fun because everyone was in a great mood. There were lots of last-minute dashing around getting everything ready for the reception. The groom also spent the morning at his family’s home, with his groomsmen and family all excited for the day ahead. Harry drove to the church in his Grandad’s fabulous green sports car.
The church ceremony
The wedding took place at the church next to the house and was a beautiful church ceremony. They had some wonderful readings, which everyone enjoyed. After the ceremony, they walked down the aisle together to excited applause. The couple made their way to the car and took a ride together while their guests made their way to the house for confetti and celebrations.
I loved how Jazz and Harry included so many elements that meant things to them. From getting ready at their family homes, using the family church for the ceremony, to driving away in the groom’s Grandad’s car. One unique thing was having a live artist who painted a picture of the couple in front of the house.
The garden party reception at home
Jazz and Harry made a wonderful entrance to their drinks reception, driving through showers of confetti to the front of the house. The day was cloudy but dry and everyone enjoyed drinks and delicious canapes in the garden.
Towards the end of the reception, I took the couple for a wander around the fields and gardens, capturing some relaxed photos of the two of them. We made our way back to the marquee in perfect time for the wedding breakfast. After some very tasty food, it was time for speeches, which were wonderful. Heartfelt moments and lots of laughter made for a brilliant end to the dinner.
The evening kicked off with an espresso martini van, a vodka luge and the band ready to go. Drinks were enjoyed, the dancing started and everyone piled onto the dance floor ready for a great night.
I had a blast photographing Jazz and Harry’s elegant garden wedding. It was the loveliest day with beautiful and thoughtful details.
